BMW X4 - the second generation of the compact crossover or as it is called in BMW - Sports Activity Coupe - was presented in February 2018. The model received the index G02.
The new BMW X4 has added 81 mm in length (up to 4752 mm) and 37 mm in width (1918 mm), and the wheelbase has grown by 54 mm (up to 2864 mm). Thanks to this, the car has become more squat and "dynamic". Due to the enlarged grille and new front headlights, the new "X-fourth" has become even easier to confuse with BMW X6. However, when viewed from the stern, all questions disappear - the second generation X4 has acquired unusually narrow lights with LED elements and dual exhaust pipes. The model is presented in three lines of equipment, differing in interior and exterior design. xLine is off-road, M Sport X is sport-off-road, and M Sport is sporty. In addition, a range of additional options from the BMW Individual package is available for the BMW X4.
With the transfer of the model to the CLAR modular platform, the BMW X4 crossover received a different combination of materials in the body structure and chassis and improved aerodynamics (Cd = 0.30). Thanks to these innovations, the X4 is about 50 kilograms lighter than its predecessor in the same configuration. At the same time, three full-size rear seats offer even more legroom for passengers, and folding backrests in a ratio of 40:20:40 allow you to increase the boot volume from 525 to 1430 liters. In addition, their inclination can be adjusted individually.
All BMX X4s (G02s) come standard with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission with paddle shifters and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. In addition to the M Sport sports suspension, driving mode selection and sport steering as standard equipment, the BMW X4 can be optionally equipped with an adaptive suspension and M Sport braking system. The BMW M Performance versions are equipped as standard with 20-inch wheels, as well as specially developed high-performance brakes and a self-locking differential on the rear axle.
