BMW X1 - the second generation of the compact crossover (body F48) was presented in June 2015. The car, built on the basis of the new UKL1 platform with a transverse power unit, became the first front-wheel drive crossover of the Bavarian brand. At the same time, the novelty added 53 mm in height, and in general, “matured” outwardly, becoming more similar to the older Xs.
The new X1 is offered with two-liter petrol and diesel engines. Versions sDrive20i and xDrive20i are equipped with a 192-horsepower engine. The xDrive25i version received a 231-horsepower power unit.
The interior of the new BMW X1 offers noticeably more space for passengers and luggage. From the previous generation, the F48 crossover interior is distinguished by a modern premium atmosphere and functionality taken to a new level. And thanks to the latest generation of BMW Group four-cylinder engines, the redesigned BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system and a new chassis design, the car has significantly improved sportiness and comfort, while fuel consumption and emissions have been reduced by up to 17 percent compared to the corresponding models of the previous generations.
The base diesel BMW x1 sDrive18d is equipped with a 150-horsepower engine. The all-wheel drive xDrive20d with a 190-horsepower engine also got into the range, and the top-end “heavy-fuel” xDrive25d with a power unit with a capacity of 231 hp was also appreciated.
As options for the BMW X1, LED headlights, Dynamic Damper Control, a head-up display and Driving Assistant Plus are available.
Serial production of the BMW X1 has been established at the BMW Group plant in Regensburg (Germany).
