Compared to its predecessor, the car has undergone a significant modernization of power units and assemblies. The chassis of the third generation BMW 6 Series Coupe is now borrowed not from the BMW “five”, but from the older BMW 7 Series. Options such as premium Bang & Olufsen acoustics with 16 speakers, a projection system on the windshield that can display speed, hints from a traffic sign control system or a navigator have become available for the car.
The BMW 6 Series Coupe is a full-fledged Gran Turismo car, that is, a car that should be comfortable both when driving fast and when marching over long distances. To enhance this feeling, optional adaptive suspension and adjustable dampers, an active steering system, as well as rear wheel steering technology, which is offered at an additional cost for rear-wheel drive versions, are called upon.
For the BMW 6 Series Coupe, two petrol engines are available - a 3-liter inline-six (320 hp and 450 Nm), as well as a 4.4-liter V8 (407 hp and 600 Nm). In addition to them, you can choose a six-cylinder 313-horsepower 3-liter diesel engine as a power plant. The xDrive all-wheel drive system is available as an option for the V8 petrol and diesel.
As a transmission, regardless of the selected engine, an eight-speed automatic is used, thanks to which even the diesel version of the model reaches one hundred kilometers per hour in 5.5 seconds. If a 407-horsepower engine is installed under the hood, then the all-wheel drive modification of an almost two-ton coupe will take only 4.8 seconds to accelerate to “hundreds”.
