The tailgate can be torn off in two positions: fully and partially. In the first case, it swings open entirely, including the metal and glazed parts. And in the second - only the metal cover opens. In other words, the “hold” of the 5 Series GT, like a real station wagon, is ready to take bulky cargo, and small things will be able to be packed without unnecessary worry for the rear riders, as in a regular sedan. The tailgate can be equipped with a servo drive for an extra charge, which has learned not only to open it, but also to close it. At the same time, in order for it to work, you just need to pass your foot under the rear bumper.

The list of hatchback modifications includes two petrol and three diesel versions:

• 535i Gran Turismo - gasoline six-cylinder engine with a volume of 3 liters (306 hp, 400 Nm);

• 550i Gran Turismo - gasoline eight-cylinder engine with a volume of 4.4 liters (450 hp, 650 Nm);

• 520d Gran Turismo - diesel four-cylinder unit with a volume of 2 liters (184 hp, 380 Nm);

• 530d Gran Turismo - diesel six-cylinder engine with a volume of 3 liters (258 hp, 560 Nm);

• 535d Gran Turismo - diesel six-cylinder engine with a volume of 3 liters (313 hp, 630 Nm).

All modifications of the BMW 5 Series GT are aggregated by default with an eight-speed automatic. The xDrive all-wheel drive system is offered as an option for all versions except for the 520d modification. Serial production of the model is established in Germany.
