Description BMW 2 Series Coupe

BMW 2 Series - C-class coupe, introduced at the end of 2013. Despite the fact that the car was built on the basis of the “one”, according to the new naming policy of the brand, the two-door received a new even index 2. It differs from the co-platform coupe in different optics and bumpers.

Compared to predecessor coupe BMW 1 Series the new two-door has become 72 mm longer (4432 mm) and 32 mm wider (1774 mm). At the same time, the height of the compartment decreased by 5 mm. The trunk has grown by 20 liters and is now ready to fit 390 liters. The back of the rear sofa is folded in a ratio of 60:40. As an option, a three-section version (40:20:60) is offered.

Among the innovations is a system for lifting the rear of the hood when hitting a pedestrian, which provides shock mitigation. In addition, in the "base" two-door is now equipped with climate control.

Three suspensions are available for the BMW 2 Series:

• basic;

• Adaptive M Suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers;

• M Sport with stiffer springs.

Among other things, the Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport chassis differ from the basic suspension in their lower ground clearance: by 10 and 20 mm, respectively.

The car is offered in the following modifications:

• 218i - with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (136 hp);

• 220i - with a 2.0 liter petrol engine (184 hp);

• 230i - with a 2.0 liter petrol engine (252 hp);

• M240i and M240i xDrive - with a 3.0-liter gasoline engine (340 hp);

• 218d - with a two-liter diesel engine with 150 hp;

• 220d - with a two-liter diesel engine with 190 hp;

• 225d - with a two-liter diesel engine with 224 hp

All engines, except for the three-liter unit, are offered by default with six-speed mechanics. 340 hp engine available only with an eight-band automatic, which is offered for a surcharge for other power plants.

All versions of the BMW 2 Series are equipped with a simulated rear cross-axle differential. To modify the M240i, you can optionally order a real mechanical “samoblok”.

The BMW 2 Series Coupe is produced in Germany at the BMW Group plant in Leipzig.
