BMW Z4 - two-door roadster with a soft folding roof and rear-wheel drive. The premiere of the third generation (G29) took place in August 2018 at the Pebble Beach Elegance Contest (California, USA), after which, in October of the same year, the novelty debuted at the Paris Motor Show.

Compared with predecessor The new BMW Z4 has grown in length by 85 mm (up to 4324 mm), has become 74 mm wider (now 1864 mm) and 13 mm higher (1304 mm). The wheelbase has become shorter by 26 mm (now 2470 mm), and the track is wider (it is increased by 98 mm at the front and is 1609 mm, and at the rear by 57 mm and is 1616 mm), which increased the maneuverability of the car. The electric drive folds and unfolds the roof in ten seconds and operates at speeds up to 50 km/h.

The new BMW Roadster received a mesh grille and - for the first time - a vertical arrangement of headlights. The contour lines on the long bonnet are shaped like arrows leading to the grille and then to the bulging wheel arches of a classic sports car. Characteristic curves on the sides imitate the flow of air sliding along the car. At the rear: a spoiler integrated into the trunk lid, narrow L-shaped headlights and large air ducts. For new items, nine body color options are provided, while the textile roof is black as standard. An optional roof is available in Anthracite with a silver effect.

As standard, the novelty is equipped with LED headlights, and adaptive LED headlights with anti-dazzle high beam function are available as an option.

The center console of the new BMW Z4 is turned towards the driver, and the sports seats for the driver and passenger feature integrated headrests. The interior of the BMW Z4 sDrive30i is upholstered in Vernasca leather as standard, while the interior of the BMW Z4 M40i is upholstered in leather and Alcantara. Optionally, a protective screen is available for the two-door, covering passengers from the wind. Other practical details include storage space behind the seats, a specially designed center armrest that slides out to reveal cup holders, and roomy door pockets.

The trunk of the new BMW Z4 is 50% more spacious than the previous model - 270 liters, regardless of the roof configuration.

The BMW Z4 M40i is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine. It develops 340 hp. power and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, sending the roadster sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The BMW Z4 engine range has been supplemented by two 2.0-liter four-cylinder units. The BMW Z4 sDrive30i engine produces 258 hp. and 400 Nm, which allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The power unit of the BMW Z4 sDrive20i develops 197 hp. and 320 Nm, and a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is given to such a car in 6.6 seconds. All motors are combined with an 8-speed "automatic".

The BMW Z4 comes standard with adaptive sports steering. It adjusts both the steering effort and the maximum steering angle to suit the driving situation. Buyers of the top-of-the-line Z4 M40i will get sports brakes and an electronically locking differential, adaptive suspension and 19-inch wheels at no extra charge. At the same time, all versions of the model are equipped with different-sized tires front and rear.

Collision and pedestrian warning systems with city braking function, as well as warning of dangers when changing lanes, are already standard. And the Z4's optional extras include Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Change Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Rear View Camera and Parking Assist, Active Side Impact Protection, Speeding and No Overtaking Alert, and Head-up display, available for the first time for a roadster.
