BMW 3 Series Sedan - the sixth generation of the model, which premiered in October 2011. The main attention in the development of a new generation in the company was given to increasing comfort and improving efficiency. In addition, three basic styling options have been developed for the car - Modern, Luxury and Sport, each of which transforms the design of the body and interior. For a surcharge, a sports suspension and adjustable effort steering are available for the sedan.
Like the previous generation, in the basic version, the new BMW 3 Series is a rear-wheel drive car, but as an option for the model, the xDrive all-wheel drive system is offered, which normally distributes torque in a ratio of 40:60 in favor of the rear axle, and, if necessary, can direct all engine power to the front or rear wheels. xDrive is available for all engines, except for the initial 1.6-liter (136 hp) engine from the range of gasoline units.
The list of petrol engines also includes two 2-liter four-cylinder engines (184 and 245 hp) and a 3-liter six-cylinder unit (306 hp). Diesels - four-cylinder 2-liter (184 hp) or six-cylinder 3-liter (258 hp).
Paired with power plants, a six-speed “mechanics” or an eight-speed automatic can work.
The BMW 3 Series is the brand's most popular car, accounting for about 30% of the company's total sales. Serial production of the model has been established in many countries, including China and Russia.
